If our brains are overloaded and disoriented from emotional stress, then it could think that the temperature is going up. Then, it could make our sweat glands overproduce sweat, causing excessive sweating.

The amount of fat that your body has can also cause excessive sweating. If you are obese, then your body has more minerals than it needs. The body considers these to be useless, and tries to get rid of it so that it will not be full of unwanted minerals. This is done through sweating them out. So the more excess fat you have, the more prone to excessive sweating you are.
